The Duchy of Insmother is an old ducal realm north-west of Kethra, bordering the Vesk Empire. Four core worlds sit behind a wide rim of eight systems. Its territory is Insmother Space.
Core worlds
Insmother: the ducal seat. The court sits at Hallowmere on Castellane.
Aubrenne: garden estates and the trade city Lysse, where licensed Vesk trade arrives from Dromhal.
Weltharrow: the Duchy's industry, fed by scrap from the rim.
Marisel: domed cities on the ice.
The rim
Thaxis, Greyhallow, Pellory, Cairnmoor, Liss, Vantrell, Edda's Lamp and Selwyn. No hyperlanes reach them. Ducal authority out here is thin. Monthax, in the Thaxis system, is the Duchy's closest world to Vesk space.
Arms
The Insmother Ducal Guard is small and stretched. Its home dock is The Ducal Anchorage, and Pellory Watch is the only picket facing the Vesk rim.
